There’s a dead scorpion in my lunch

Bill Belew has raised 2 bi-cultural kids, now 34 and 30. And he and his wife are now parenting a 3rd, Mia, who is 8.

My daddy was in India a while back.

He visited the state called Chhattisgarh.

Boy am I glad he didn’t eat lunch at the school while he was there. Or did he?

18 kids got sick from eating lunch while at school.

The reason? They found a dead scorpion in the food!

EEEeeewwww!!!

The cook got the boot. Good thing she didn’t put the boot in the food, too!

I am really really glad my mommy packs my lunch for me. Daddy does, too. Sometimes. But mostly mommy does it.

Mommy would never put a dead scorpion in my lunch box.

In fact, if mommy sees a bug, any bug, she screams so loud it scares daddy. Then daddy has to catch the bug … which he usually does with some toilet paper or a newspaper or a magazine or a boot … the kind of boot that you don’t put in a lunch box.

And then he flushes the bug down the toilet.

Did you ever see a fly swim? They are pretty strong. But the toilet spinning water is stronger. I know.

Next time my daddy goes to India he needs to be more careful. I hope he reads this so he’ll know why.

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
